Gruene Hall was built in 1878, and is Texas’ oldest continually operated dance hall. This 6,000 square foot country western mecca has been a stage for some of country music’s most notable performers including George Strait, Willie Nelson and Patty Griffin just to name a few. Head out to Gruene Hall any day of the week to catch some boot stompin’ good times and live music.

Come and Taste It at the Grapevine

On the third Thursday of each month, The Grapevine invites visitors to Meet the Winemakers at their popular tasting room in Gruene Historic District. Throughout the year. eleven of Texas’ best wineries and breweries will be showcased. Each event will be held on The Grapevine’s outdoor patio and garden area. Complimentary tastings will be offered of the craft beer and three of the wineries newest releases, top-selling and hardest to find wines. You’ll also enjoy food sampling, live music and giveaways!

Dos Rios Splash and Dash 5k

May 10, 2014 • 6:30am – 12:00am • At Cypress Bend Park


The New Braunfels Parks Foundation hosts an annual Splash and Dash 5K the first weekend in May.

Enjoy 2 beautiful rivers and 3 parks along the route on this run.  The annual Dos Rios 5k and new 10K benefits the New Braunfels Parks Foundation.

Two options on the 5K and 10K.  You can run the roads or for an additional challenge you can tube through the chute.  Awards are given for each category of race.

You will run from Cypress Bend park to Prince Solms park and then back to Cypress Bend.  For the chute challenge, when you get to Prince Solms park you will grab a tube and float the river through the tube chute.  You will then continue the rest of your run.  Yes you will be running with wet shoes unless you take them off prior to the chute.

Tubes are provided by the city for the Chute Challenge.  You do not need to provide your own.
